Wide Screen, Slim Panel
Widescreen means cinema-style viewing and an improved overall multimedia experience. Widescreen provides you with more screen real estate so you can get more stuff on your screen at once while the flat panel design makes sure not to take up very much space on your desktop. Whether you are working or playing, wider and flatter truly is better.

Worth every single cent May 9, 2008 Kostis (Athens - Greece) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
It is a great product considering its price. Wonderful image and sharp colors, big size 24" widescreen, perfect for working with many windows open, full HD support and cool design that fits great with my Mac computer and my desk.
It is not a top range product and does not aim for professional designers. It doesn't have features like many inputs, integrated hubs, speakers etc. nor does it have an advanced technology panel like IPS or PVA. It is a single TN panel. That's why it is so cheap. But if you are not a professional graphic designer and you do not mind about accurate color reproduction, you will not get disappointed as image quality is still amazing. If you are thinking about buying with the same money a smaller monitor with more features, do not do it!! Sizes matters as well as full HD resolution. As I said, it's really a monitor worth to buy it, ideal for both working and gaming.
Great Value January 11, 2008 Richard Richardson (Denver) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
Keep in mind you are getting a bare bones monitor. No bells and whistles here. But then again you are not paying for all the extras. If that is want you want than look elsewhere.
This is good value in my opinion. Colors are nice and clarity is good. The factory settings are rather poor and it took me a few days to get it dialed in. At first I really let down but after getting things set to my liking I am more than happy. It is a big TN screen and some of the viewing angels are not the best, but nothing major. I use this screen for day to day internet browsing viewing DVDs and gaming. Gaming and DVDS have been a delight with the big screen. Basic set up is very easy but as I have stated before it will take some time to get it tuned in.
You have to evaluate what you plan to use this screen for. If you need ultra high quality color reproduction and super sharp images you will need to fork out a few more hundred dollars. If you are OK with
just above average quality and no bells and whistles this one is all you.
As a good as expected November 24, 2007 Lee Minam (Twin Cities, MN) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
I used to own two 22-inch widescreen monitors (Viewsonic, Westinghouse) within a year before this Dell monitor surfaced on the market. As with the Dells's other two levels up monitors, I thought this one would too come with a Portrait position tilting feature. It does not. This is only my misgiving about this device!
Other than that this monitor gives out fantastic display! A display is crisp, clear, and vivid, as a good as Sony 46-inch Bravia LCD TV--and, to my pleasant surprise, this monitor consumes less energy than other two 22" monitors I used to own. Moreover, my computer used to have problem with a sleep-mode feature and noisier. This Dell monitor took care of both for some reason. I recommend it HIGHLY!
Great value and display May 31, 2008 M. White 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This was my first LCD purchase after my CRT died on me. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly light this display is. I could probably lift it with one hand, making it very easy to setup and install. The other thing I noticed is how solid the stand is. A few of the other displays I considered had cheap flimsy looking stands. This one tilts without feeling like it's going to fall over.
This particular model has an anti-glare screen instead of the popular high-gloss finish. I know this is a matter of personal preference, but I find the reflections in high-gloss screens distracting.
The display itself is very bright with vivid colors. The native 1920x1200 resolution looks absolutely amazing. I would strongly recommend using the DVI connector if your video card supports it. The analog connection can make text a little fuzzy.
The only thing that makes this a 4-star monitor instead of 5, is that there is no USB hub built in. At this price though, I think it's a great buy.
Do yourself a favor and do not buy this monitor October 29, 2009 M. Paganini 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
It's tempting. A 24" Dell monitor for this price with a solid warranty. What could go wrong?
This line of thought put me in the difficult situation I find myself with this monitor today. Until you plug it in, you're sure you made a good deal. Not too shabby. When you plug it in, the disappointment begins...
First, it's a TN panel. If you don't know what it is, look around the web. Most LCD monitors these days are TN panels for a reason: They're *cheap*. It's not that it's going to look horrible, but it does not have the display quality you expect out of an LCD monitor. Text is not crisp and color reproduction is not ideal (not a big concern for most), but what really bugs me are the ultra-restrictive vertical viewing angle (you need to be at the *exact* height) and the *horrible* (and I'll repeat *horrible*) uneven backlight illumination. Set your screen to full black and you can clearly see the back light. It's actually stronger than you might think and was a complete shock to me.
The best, however, is yet to come, and it's popularly called "Dell Hell" (Google for it). My monitor started to develop subtle problems 1 1/2 years after I bought it (well within the Dell 3 year warranty.) So far, I've spent over six hours *on the phone* trying to solve the problem, only to be thrown into flaky voice operated systems, non-functional numbers and clueless reps inside Dell's tech support. After a lot of sweat, I got a replacement (refurbished), which is so broken it won't display anything. Every call to Dell support is now twice as hard, as I have to explain the entire story over and over again (they appear to have no tracking or notes of any kind attached to your case). The line constantly goes down, forcing me into another 20 to 30 minutes of wait-time just to rinse and repeat the cycle above. At some point, you'll find someone who can help, but invariably will need to get "approval" from someone and will "need to call you back". Needless to say, that call never happens. I'm on the third cycle of this travesty Dell calls Tech Support.
It's truly the worst support nightmare I've experienced in my life. I'm about to GIVE THIS MONITOR AWAY for free and give up the whole thing. Point for Dell.
I'm giving it two stars because it works, That is, poorly, and until it breaks (and break it will.) Two of my friends with Dell monitors are going through a similarly unpleasant situation.
Save yourself from this nightmare and stay away from this monitor.
